How Asking One Question Every Morning Totally Changed My Outlook
I recently decided to try waking up with this question on my mind:
“Why is today going to be a good day?”
When I first came across this idea, it seemed like it would be too simple to answer… but once I thought more, I realized how meaningful it is.
First, I thought about what will be happening today that I was looking forward to… no matter how simple it is. For you, it could be that cup of fresh brewed coffee from your favorite cafe. Or perhaps that new pair of shoes you will get from Amazon today. Or maybe the next episode of your favorite TV show that will be on tonight.
Then, I thought about what I could do to make today a good day. Sometimes it meant going for a walk in the park on a break. Or making a plan to finish work early so I can take a long lunch. Or perhaps making dinner plans with a friend.
By doing this exercise, my mood improved, and I was more focused on taking action to create the best day possible.
So, give it a try. Spend 5 minutes thinking about why today will be a good day. Write down your answers so they stick with you. Then start your day.
Because when you plan a good day, it’s much more likely to happen.
